A life dedicated to adventure and exploration
Leon is a NAUI SCUBA and Nitrox instructor who holds certification from IANTD and TDI through advanced Tri-mix diving.  He has experience in mixed-gas decompression diving, cavern diving and rescue.  His specialty is deep wreck exploration and wreck research.  He is the author of SHIPWRECKS of FLORIDA'S WEST COAST, the guide to wreck diving on the central Gulf Coast.
Leon's writing and photography have appeared in Skin Diver Magazine as well as local and national publications.  He has appeared on SCUBA radio as well as Tampa Bay's 10 News Life Around the Bay, Fox 13's Sunken Chip, and NBCs THE SPOT.  He also lectures on shipwrecks, wreck diving and adventure travel.  His diving has taken him from Florida to the Great Barrier Reef, South Africa, the Caribbean, and Central America. As an explorer Leon and his team have a first descent into a yet un-named Karst Window far offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.
The extreme depths of this discovery are still unexplored.
Additionally, Leon is an avid mountaineer with ascents of Cotopaxi, Imbabura, Ruminahui, Sincholagua, and Gua gua Pichincha in Ecuador,  Aconcagua, Mexican Volcanos,  Cascade summits, the White Mountains as well as the Colorado Rockies, Table Rock, North Carolina, Kilimanjaro and a couple of low ones in the Himalayas. In 2007 Leon took part in a multi-national expedition to Mustagh Ata in China (7500m)
Leon also guides adventure travel ranging from bungee jumping in Australia, exploring the rainforest canopy in Central America, The Inca Trail in Peru, Mt. Everest Basecamp, Basic Mountaineering on Pico de Orizaba, hiking and kayaking Hawaii,  and hiking, biking and kayaking the Southern United States.
He also competes on the Adventure Outfitters Adventure Racing Team.
